Dutch Boy DIMENSIONS® premium paint is formulated to be self-priming and features long-term durability, stain resistance and scrubbability. Although a primer is not necessary, using two coats of DIMENSIONS® is recommended when painting over uncoated surfaces, or when using vibrant or dark colors. Special shading bases have been formulated to tint to many saturated designer colors, resulting in excellent hide and vibrant color topcoats.
The condition of each substrate should always be considered carefully to determine whether a primer is necessary. In some instances, such as severe stains, a stain-blocking primer is needed. Glossy surfaces may require sanding the surface or the use of a bonding primer. For extreme color changes, or when painting over patched and uncoated drywall, two coats of DIMENSIONS® paint may be needed for optimal color development.
