Choose Wisely: Colors
Analyze your current room, adjacent rooms and the contents within the room. For example: furniture, artwork, accessories, and woodwork.
- Using Current Room
Pick colors from fabrics, artwork, and accessories.
- Using Your Wardrobe
Your closet can tell you what colors you prefer and that look good on you. Why not surround yourself with those same colors and use them for color inspiration.
- Create a Mood or Atmosphere
Depending on what room you are painting, you may want to create a mood. Certain colors can be associated with these moods. (See color psychology portion)
For example: Bedroom-calm and relaxing Kitchen-bright, uplifting or warm, inviting
With a little knowledge on color theory, you can now use these rules and apply them to your own home to create a space that is just right.
